How the MPNP EOI ranking works
The Expression of Interest (EOI) is an online profile, not an application. It's used for the Skilled Worker and International Education streams. MPNP gives you ranking points for six factors and regularly invites the highest-scoring candidates with a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA). An EOI is valid for one year. Manitoba can also limit draws for occupations with many existing applications or a weak job outlook, so a high score isn't a guarantee.

Source: Manitoba Immigration, Expression of Interest draw notices. "LAA" is a Letter of Advice to Apply, Manitoba's invitation to submit a full application. Selections marked "–" invited candidates by occupation, French language or a strategic recruitment initiative, without a published minimum score.
What stands out:
- Most scored selections are for people already working or studying in Manitoba. Those profiles get 50 to 500 adaptability points, which is why lowest scores sit between 760 and 846.
- No selection in these draws invited Skilled Worker Overseas profiles by score alone. Overseas candidates were invited through strategic recruitment initiatives, and French speakers through the Francophone selection.
- Occupation-specific draws targeted health, education and science workers in Manitoba.
The 60-point worksheet (Skilled Worker Overseas)
To apply under Skilled Worker Overseas, you need at least 60 of 100 points and a connection to Manitoba. If you score 60 or more without a connection, you aren't eligible. If you currently work in Manitoba, you don't need this worksheet. Source: MPNP Self-assessment Worksheet (updated June 2025).

The worksheet gives one language level, so the calculator uses your lowest ability there. The worksheet also counts native speakers as CLB 8; we don't assume that, so enter your test scores.
Ways to raise your MPNP score
- CLB 8 in every ability. Each ability below CLB 8 costs 3 to 25 points.
- A second official language. A French (or English) test at CLB/NCLC 5 adds 25 points.
- Another year of work. The fourth year adds 15 points, the jump from one to two years adds 10.
- Licensing. If your trade or profession is regulated in Manitoba, full licensing adds 100.
- Regional settlement. A real connection to a community outside Winnipeg adds 50.
Planning Express Entry too? A Manitoba nomination through an Express Entry-linked pathway adds 600 points in the CRS calculator. Compare with the BC PNP calculator if you're considering British Columbia.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good MPNP EOI score?
There's no fixed pass mark. Manitoba ranks everyone in the pool and invites the highest-scoring candidates in each draw, sometimes only from certain occupations or pathways. In the three draws from 24 September to 22 October 2026, published lowest scores were 760 to 846, but only for Skilled Worker in Manitoba profiles in the selected groups. The table on this page lists every selection.
Is the MPNP EOI score the same as the 60-point worksheet?
No. The worksheet decides whether you can apply under Skilled Worker Overseas - you need 60 of 100 points and a connection to Manitoba. The EOI score, out of 1,000, ranks you against other candidates in the pool. Applicants who already work in Manitoba don't need the worksheet.
Do I need a connection to Manitoba?
Yes. Every candidate needs at least one connection to Manitoba, such as a close relative, past work or study in Manitoba, a friend or distant relative, ongoing work in Manitoba, or an Invitation to Apply under a Strategic Initiative. Without one, you aren't eligible whatever your points.
Why does work or study in another province reduce my score?
Manitoba takes away 100 points for work experience in another province and 100 for studies in another province, for you or your spouse, because these connections make it less likely you'll stay in Manitoba. A close relative in another province or a past application to another province doesn't cost points, but you must still declare it.
Does an MPNP nomination help with Express Entry?
Yes, if you're nominated through an Express Entry-linked pathway, the nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score. Use the CRS calculator to see your score with a nomination.
How long does an EOI stay in the pool?
One year from the day you submit it. You can only have one active EOI at a time and can create a new one after it expires.
