How to raise your BC PNP score
- Location matters a lot. A job outside Metro Vancouver gives up to 25 points (15 for the area plus 10 for regional experience or alumni), compared with 0 in Metro Vancouver.
- Wage is the biggest single factor. Every extra dollar per hour is one more point, up to $70. For a yearly salary, BC PNP divides it by 52 weeks and by your weekly hours (counted as at least 30 and at most 40).
- Language points rise in steps of 5 from CLB 4 to CLB 9, and a second official language at CLB 4 adds 10.
- Working for your employer in B.C. now adds 10 points.
The "What would add points" box in the calculator tries these changes on your own answers.
Before you register
The score only ranks you. You also need to meet the requirements of your stream, including a job offer from an eligible B.C. employer, and your occupation must match the round. Read the program guide before you register.
A provincial nomination linked to Express Entry adds 600 points to your CRS score. Check your CRS score and recent Provincial Nominee Program draws.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good BC PNP score?
It depends on the round. In the latest 2026 rounds the minimum scores were 99 for Care Childcare, 76 for Care Health, 94 for Build Construction Trades and 131 for Innovate High Economic Impact points rounds. Care and Build rounds only invite people in eligible occupations, so compare your score with the round that matches your job.
What is the SIRS score?
The Skills Immigration Registration System gives each registrant up to 200 points - 120 for human capital (work experience, education and language) and 80 for economic factors (the hourly wage and location of your B.C. job offer). B.C. invites the highest-scoring registrants in each round.
Do I need a job offer for BC PNP Skills Immigration?
Yes. The Skills Immigration streams are based on a job offer from an eligible B.C. employer, and the offer's hourly wage and location give you up to 80 of your 200 points.
Is the BC PNP score the same as my CRS score?
No. The SIRS score only ranks you in B.C.'s own registration pool. Your Express Entry CRS score is separate. If you receive a provincial nomination linked to Express Entry, it adds 600 CRS points.
Why do some rounds have no minimum score?
In 2026, some Innovate High Economic Impact rounds invited candidates by wage rather than by score. Those rounds are listed with no minimum score.
Which language score is used?
Your lowest score of the four abilities - listening, speaking, reading and writing. If you have test results in both English and French at CLB 4 or higher in all four abilities, you get 10 more points.
